About CGB Eloxering ApS

CGB Eloxering ApS was founded in 1988 by Claus Gregers Bjerg and is a smaller and modern anodizing company that has for many years specialized and improved its efficiency in the surface treatment of aluminium.

The company is run by a small group of employees, all of whom have a unique knowledge of anodizing. All employees, with their extensive knowledge, advices and close cooperation with the customer, ensure that the items go through as few processes as possible

Over the years, development, quality assurance, process techniques/optimization and environmental development have been core values for CGB Eloxering - We meet all current requirements for environmental approval and the Danish Working Environment Authority

CGB Eloxering ApS has a targeted environmental policy that can be described as constantly seeking to save resources through recycling. To ourselves, neighbors and to the surrounding environment, in a way that ensures that our customers will always get the desired quality. These goals are sought to be achieved by using advanced and sustainable environmentally friendly solutions that are profitable and ethically correct.

Unlike many other anodizing companies, CGB Eloxering ApS has not discharged wastewater since 2008, so wastewater discharge can no longer be considered a significant environmental condition. The discharge from CGB Eloxering ApS has since the end of 2008 been limited to sanitary wastewater and surplus water from the CGB ELoxering plant for desalination of waterworks.

We prepare a Green Account every year for the municipality of Hillerød.

    Working environment

Pre-treatment

Before the anodizing process, a mechanical treatment can be performed e.g. grinding, drum polishing or blasting. Pre-treatment at CGB consists of a lighter degreaser, which removes light dirt and oil film. Continuation of the process is removing unwanted oxide so items can get smooth and matte texture. After pickling, the items are then rinsed. Remains of stain coatings are removed. Now the items are ready for Oxide Treatment (Anodizing).

Oxide treatment

The anodizing process takes place in a sulfuric acid bath, where a portion of the aluminium surface is converted to oxide, while the oxide from the sulfuric acid bath is added. This is done using a DC transformer.

Post processing

After anodizing, the surface is naturally colored and finally sealed. It takes place in a heat-demoralized water bath. Any desired color of anodizing is done before sealing.

Organic coloring is done by immersing the item in a bath. In the case of bronze anodizing, items are places in the bath in which cathodes of tin are used and inserted into the surface using a transformer.

The green smiley shows that CGB Eloxering ApS has nothing outstanding with the Danish Working Environment Authority and is thus a sign that we have order in the working environment.

We are proud to be able to deliver a good and consistent quality, and together with you we set the framework for how the individual issues should be dealt with.

We follow your items closely throughout the process and keep an eye on the individual order being delivered at the agreed time. But we are also flexible, and if a customer needs a faster delivery, we are always able to help. We provide thorough and competent professional advice on surface treatment matter. We are also happy to try new ways if your product requires special demands for treatment or appearance. Requisition

The goods should be accompanied by a requisition and preferably a drawing that defines the desired surface treatments. This ensures that the goods get the right treatment from start to finish.

Packaging

To secure the items before anodizing, they must be stored indoors and in a relatively dry place. If it is not possible, we recommend a protective anodization of 5 microns - or to apply a foil, which both prevents corrosion and thus gaps in the final anodization.

Aluminium

Aluminium appears in nature as aluminium and has existed in human history as a natural part of our environment.

Aluminium, the third most frequent element in the earth's crust, has low density, high mechanical strength in alloys and is corrosion resistant. It is easy to process, non-toxic and tasteless, and a good conductor for both heat and electric power. Furthermore, since aluminium is relatively inexpensive, it has become a widely used metal in a wide range of sectors and industries.

Anodizing

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that involves oxidizing aluminium to make it more resistant.

Aluminium is quite corrosion resistant due to its natural oxide, but its strength can be improved by anodizing.

Anodizing can be compared to the formation of rust on iron. Just as iron protects itself by forming rust, aluminium protects itself by oxidizing.

Alloys

The majority of all aluminum sold on the market is alloyed with one or more additives. Unalloyed aluminum is relatively soft, so alloying elements are added to increase the breaking strength.
